A second-year para-medical girl student of a private medical college near thecity allegedly committed suicide in her hostel room after being ragged by her seniors.
Police sources said they have picked up a girl student for enquiry. The senior girl allegedly ragged Yoga Lakshmi for the last few weeks. The 19-year-old student died under mysterious circumstances and a 16-page note recovered from her room by the police indicated ragging as the reason behind the death.
The parents suspected foul play behind Yoga Lakshmi’s death, as the college management gave multiple versions of how she died.

“Initially, the college authorities said that my daughter consumed poison. After few hours, some faculty member told me that Yoga Lakshmi was found hanging from the ceiling. We seriously doubt whether it was a suicide or something else”, victim’s father Kamalakannan said.
