Fresh ragging incident rocks MANIT TNN | Aug 3, 2014, 09.31AM IST

BHOPAL: Another incident of ragging on Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) campus has come to haunt the institute. Students from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana filed a complaint on official portal of anti-ragging of UGC helpline centre on Saturday.

In their complaint, students said ragging is rampant in hostel number 1. "We are forced by seniors to rag juniors," students said in complaints. "We are mentally and physically tortured by seniors daily," they said.

Complainants also named their seniors who are responsible for ragging. These are Lakam Ajay Kumar (metallurgical science and metallurgical engineering, pass out), Gundala Avinash (computer science, 4th year), Rekala Bharath Simha Reddy (computer science, 3rd year), Maloth Praveen (metallurgical science and metallurgical engineering, 3rd year), Chaluvali Anjaneya Avinash (mechanical, 3rd year), Yeshwanth Sai (electrical and electronics, 3rd year), Gobburi Lokesh (3rd Year), Chavala Manoj (chemical engineering, 3rd Year), Kolli Parasuram (electrical and computer engineering, 3rd year), Kamepalli Rakesh (mechanical, 3rd year).
