PATNA: The colleges and universities of the state will start humming with activities on Tuesday when they reopen after a month-long summer vacation.

Since it's admission time, students will be busy in submitting application forms for admission to the three-year degree courses in arts, science and commerce streams, classes of some old batches are also likely to commence. Students and their guardians on Monday visited different institutions, making anxious inquiries about the admission details and required amount to be deposited at the time of admission. Admission in all the colleges, except those under Patna University (PU), is made on the basis of marks secured in the last qualifying examination.

In PU colleges, the admission process is already on for those who were selected on the basis of written tests conducted separately by each college. Patna College has completed the process. Classes of the newly admitted students would start on Tuesday after a brief induction programme, said college principal Nawal Kishore Chaudhary. All other colleges would start the Degree Part-I classes later in July.
