Won't tolerate ragging on campus: PU TNN | Jul 10, 2014, 06.40AM IST

CHANDIGARH: Gearing up to welcome a fresh batch of students in the new academic session, Panjab University (PU) on Wednesday held a meeting to tackle ragging on campus. Reiterating that the university will adopt a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging, PU also released helpline numbers and an email ID where students can complain in case of any such incident.

Panjab University has announced that any sort of ragging will be a cognizable offence and all its forms have been banned inside and outside the campus.

A PU statement said that students, who are victims of ragging, should immediately inform the chairperson or warden concerned. Students can also complain to dean student welfare, dean student welfare (women), deputy registrar (DSW), chief security officer or security officers. Any complaint can be lodged at DSW's email dsw@pu.ac.in. Mobile numbers of the officials are mentioned in the handbook of information and on PU website.
